Casimir starts with a basic element: a plank in pure oak. With these planks he reconstructs the tree they came from! This reconstructed tree is a piece of furniture (you can sit on it), but it is also a poetic and ecological statement. And a statement about craftmanship and manual labour: you can't 'design' a tree, you have to make him manually, you have to sculpt it. It's a perfect example of how Casimir's work resembles that of an artist. He works intuitively, similar to what an artist does with forms or a poet with words.
